Why Making Time To See Your Girlfriends Is So Important
Being a mum, it is not uncommon for us to put our kids, husband, housework and everything else in our life before us. With little kids that are dependent on us, we realise that this is part of motherhood and we come to accept it.
But for our own self-care, it is important to do something just for us every now and then. Even if it is a simple as a morning walk, a warm coffee at a café without the kids demanding our attention or going to see a movie that isn’t rated G.
Self-care helps us to cope with the symptoms of overwhelm as well as treating yourself as kindly as you treat everyone else in your life.
One of the things I have noticed after having kids is that most of my catch ups with my girlfriends are with kids in tow. Now don’t get me wrong family time and seeing our kids play together is great to see, but every now and then what I really loved is going out with my girlfriends and just being Katie for the day, not mum.
That is why I was so excited to see that The High Tea Party was coming to Brisbane.
In my pre-kids days, I enjoyed lots of great high teas with my friends. But fine china and toddlers definitely don’t mix so I haven’t been to one in a good few years.
The High Tea Party has given me the excuse to take a moment and catch up with my girlfriends.
The High Tea Party at the Hilton Brisbane
I love that the purpose of the event is to make sure everyone is happy and feels joyous during their time there. Alison Dean, the CEO of The High Tea Party ensures you are made to feel as special as you deserve for all the hard work we put in as mums on a daily basis.
This high tea is so much more than jam and scones. It is an event where you and your girlfriends can come together, indulge for the day and have a great time. It is your chance to forget all of the day to day grind that is never-ending, even if just for a few hours.
It goes without saying that you will indulge in cakes, sandwiches and an assortment of amazing teas. Champagne and cocktails will be flowing as well.
But what makes this more than just your typical high tea, is what else is on offer.
- Spend some time checking out the fashion show
- Pick up some tips from the styling seminar
- Visit the unique pampering and fashion zones
- Enjoy sparkling wine on arrival
- Oh and did we mention gifts to take home as well!
So grab your girlfriends, put hubby, your parents or a babysitter on kid minding duties and choose your high tea sitting.
The event takes place at the Hilton Brisbane on Saturday 17th March to Sunday 18th March 2018.
Sittings are available at 10.30am, 12.30pm, 2.30pm and 4.30pm. If you think you need a little more indulgence (who doesn’t?) book the VIP Dining Experience at 11am and 2pm.
